Hello girls,

Welcome to your Y9 Food course. Unfortunately, I am unable to be here for your first lesson. During the lesson on Thursday 9th Feb, I would like you to familiarise yourself with the course documents available to you on Showbie.

The Recipe Book Folder - contains all the recipes that you will be making during the course. There are always non-meat alternatives available for the savoury dishes.

The Homework Task folder - contains the nine pieces of homework that you will complete during the course, most of these are self-led tasks.

The Lesson PowerPoints Folder - contains the PowerPoints that will be used during each lesson, you may wish to refer to these when completing your homework tasks.

Tasks to do during your lesson on Thursday 9th Feb

1. Read and sign the Rules for working in the Food classroom.
2. Complete the Skills survey. There are two skills surveys, complete the one for before the course.
3. Start to work through the following homework tasks, they are self-led tasks, information is provided to help you complete each task. You can carry out some independent research if you would like to add a greater level of detail to your answers.

Your first practical lesson will be on Thursday 23rd Feb, you will be making Chicken Tikka during that lesson. Please remember to bring your apron and a container.
