1. This lesson is about urban issues and solutions. 
Start with the research tasks on Curitiba/ Brazil at the start of the worksheet. (Ie using the map describe which part of Brazil Curitiba is in, find out its area (for size), its population, calculate its pop density, describe what kind of work takes place there if you can for its economy, and find out Brazil’s Human development index. (You could compare it to a couple of other countries eg the UKs- a higher number is better) 
2. Read through the challenges in the case study and answer the research questions on these using the links to help. Open in ppt and play as slideshow or look at in preview to access links) 
3. Read carefully about managing urban challenges. 
4. Complete the crossword on Curitiba. 
5. There are videos on Curitiba to watch if you have time. Open the PowerPoint version at the top of the page in preview and click on the links. 

Do 30 mins more for homework as I don’t think you’ll finish this in the lesson.
