1. Write a Tanka about spring, winter, or school.

2. Write a "Bio" Poem

3. Write an "I Am"Poem

4. Write a Diamante Poem

5. Write a poem in which you MUST use the words 'piano', 'subway', 'horse', 'stairs' and 'light'. Underline those words in your poem.

6. Write any other type of poem of your choosing.

b.You will also choose any poem that you like or know well, to recite to the class. Points will be given for your delivery. As far as possible, memorize the poem. Say it with the energy and emotion needed for that poem. No limericks, tanka, or haiku. Poems should be at least 8 lines in length.

*All poems that are not closed form must have at least 8 lines.

*You may NOT repeat any poetic form.
*Give each poem a title.

* Remember to use different types of imagery and figurative language in your poems.
*Put all your poems together in an anthology. Each poem must be on a separate page.
*Decorate the page on which you write each poem. This may be done on the computer or by hand. Points will be given for creativity!
*Give your anthology a title.

*Don't forget to include you name, class, and the due date of the assignment!
