Apologies I can't be with you this afternoon. Please complete the following in my absence:

1. Using the old textbook: Blue 'Folens' called 'Understanding Philosophy of Religion' please read pages 250-251 and briefly summarise the two examples of case studies that William James shares (Hadley and Bradley). Underneath your summary, give points for and against accepting these accounts of religious experience.

2. Using the same textbook, recap pages 260-263 on the responses to Swinburne's Principles of Credulity and Testimony that we looked at on Monday. Share with each other and write in your notes for each critic.

3. Swap to the new textbook - wheat! Read pages 116-118 on psychological explanations for religious experience. Complete the two slides on Feuerbach, Freud and Winnicott - making notes to answer the questions on each slide.

4. If time, continue reading pages 118-119 and do the same for physiological explanations for religious experiences - next two slides on neurophysiology and near death experiences.
