  1. Hi girls, IÕm so sorry that IÕm not in today, and that you canÕt do a practical lesson. I was going to ask you to evaluate on the last day so now IÕm going to ask you to evaluate what you have done so far, and what you intent to do for the project to reach its potential, you will have an extra lesson to complete the final piece. Be critical and extend your answers, this should really show your thought process and not be just a tick box exercise.


    An evaluation shows how you think donÕt just list what you do ÔI did this because...Õ

    Describing the process of your work:

    1. Describe what you were asked to do and your initial responses to the

    task set. This is to do with the theme of journeys and creating a response to this title using recycled materials, what sort of things did you consider when you were given this title?

    2. Give information about your reference material : primary and secondary sources. Primary sources would be your own photographs, memories, objects, secondary sources is things you have found on the internet, in books, newspapers and magazines.

    3. Discuss any research into other artistsÕ work that you carried out. This is to do with your artist research, how did this help you?

    4. Explain the reasons for your experiments. You didnÕt do much in the way of testing specifically for your final piece but why did I ask you to do the map task? The cup task? The Tom Philips task? Did these make you more conscious of how you could represent a Journey? Did they make you consider what materials you might use?

    5. Discuss your planning, the decisions you have made and reasons for any changes in your work. This is to do with your plan, why did you pick the journey you chose? Why did you choose to represent it in this way?

    The Final Piece :

    1. What have you learned from this experience? Is the final piece going to plan?

    2. Are you pleased with the result and how successful do you think you have been? How could you have improved your work? Give reasons. Think about how you have conveyed ideas and feelings and how well you have used the basic elements of Art Ð line, tone, colour, shape, pattern, texture, form. If you were do start the project again would you do it in the same way? How do you intend to use your final weeks of making the final piece? What can you improve, alter and change to make your piece even better?
