Dear all,

I hope you had a lovely half-term!

Your cover work for today is to consolidate your understanding of empirical and molecular formulae. You will need a calculator and a Periodic Table.

There are two spare calculators in the drawer in the teacher's desk at the front. If you need one, please politely ask your cover teacher for the calculator.

Periodic Tables are in the cupboard with the moles on the top shelf, in the three-tiered box (top drawer). Again, please politely ask your cover teacher for these.

1. Complete document called "worksheets" in 02 Moles, 3+4 Empirical and Molecular Formula.

Key tip! If your answer is not a whole number, you can only round if your answer is 0.2 away from the whole number. E.g. 0.8 is 0.2 from 1 so can be rounded to 1. 1.3 is too far away from 1 to round so need to multiply! 1.3 x 3 = 4.

2. Complete document called "more worksheets" in 02 Moles, 3+4 Empirical and Molecular Formula

3. Using the revision checklist in Revision, 2. Moles, make revision notes on the parts of the topic we have completed so far.

I will mark your worksheets before our next lesson and go through the mark schemes with you then.
