Today we finished "Firegirl"! The assignment is to write a paragraph that explains what the Big Idea of "Firegirl" is.

Remember that the Big Idea is the message of the story ... what does the author want us to learn?

For your paragraph:

- the topic sentence must state the Big Idea, the title of the book, and the author (Tony Abbott)

- the supporting sentences must give reasons and evidence from the book that show the Big Idea

- the concluding sentence should restate the Big Idea
