First week tasks

2024-25

L6 EPQ JRP

Date Due

Sept. 12, 2024

Additional Info
Well done on starting the EPQ process!  Tasks for this week:

  • Set aside dedicated EPQ time in your calendar - free periods, evenings, weekends...it doesn't matter, but put it in your diaries and stick to it.  As discussed, it's fine (indeed it can be quite useful for your evidence log) if you find that your initial timetabling isn't perfect and you need to do some schedule tweaking in a few weeks or even months.
  • Conduct a skills audit.  The format is up to you, but you may like to consider what skills you think you will need to complete the EPQ process, what your current level of competence is, what your desired level of competence is and how you are going to demonstrate that you are getting better over time
  • Continue to work on your initial ideas documents - remember how we talked about drawing inspiration from a wide range of places (A Level subjects, GCSE subjects, university/career plans, hobbies and interests) and that it's fine if not everything turns out to be feasible (e.g. dual accreditation)...the process of eliminating the weaker options and justifying your final selection is also great for your evidence portfolio.
