For the 6 marker, you get 3 marks for AO4 (use of data from the source), so you need to lift ideas directly from it. And you get 3 marks for AO3 (analysis and evaluation), which, crucially, has to involve the idea of explaining how the factors promote/cause globalisation, establishing a comparative ranking of importance of factors and explaining how you have arrived at this ranking (i.e. why is X more important than Y, or why is A less important than B). You don't need to cover all factors (4 would be fine).
For the 12 marker, try the following structure. Because the 'discuss' command word requires you to 'explore the strengths and weaknesses of different sides of an issue/question', it is based around the idea of presenting an argument in support of the question statement, then presenting a counterargument.
First, define your key terms...what is globalisation, what is trade, what is a global institution? (If you prefer to, you could incorporate these definitions into your 'support' paragraph - see below.
Next, make the case in support of the statement (i.e. global institutions are the most important factor). Include AO2 (what is globalisation, what is trade, what is a global institution, give examples of global institutions and describe what they do), AO4 (lift data/information from the source to illustrate how GIs could impact variations in trade/globalisation) and AO3 (evaluative statements about importance of GIs).
Next, follow the same AO2, AO4, AO3 approach, but put forward the counter argument - i.e. consider the role of factors other than GIs in creating variations in trade and globalisation. Choose a different factor per paragraph (there are lots to choose from...TNCs/trading blocs, NGOs, improved transport/communications tech). You could do one paragraph per factor. Make sure the AO3 parts of the paragraph has comparative analysis (i.e. 'this is more important than GIs because/this is less important than GIs because/this is interdependent with GIs and therefore equally important because...')
Finally - short conclusion that directly answers the question...'Overall, I believe that GIs are/are not the most important influence on variations on globalisation and trade because...'.
