Please go to M8 as usual. The likelihood is that you will not have a cover teacher turn up, but I suggest you stay in M8 (or Morton computer room) so you can access all the resources there.

Main objectives for the lesson:

1. Create a data collection map/satellite image to show the locations where you collected geolocate-able primary data (i.e. not interviews). Use what3words (About | what3words) or grid references (Grid Reference Finder) to geolocate as much as you can - probably a good idea if you don't all use the same methods.  Have a look at past projects for examples.

2. Write up your risk assessment - have a look in the guidance documents on Showbie for how to do this.  This should include a citation or two - evidence that you have consulted a website/article/book etc to find out good practice about creating a risk assessment.  Useful sources are in the guidance documents.  Format of citations could be something like:  'A risk assessment was created according to the guidelines set out by Owen (2019); specifically...' and then describe the steps.  Or 'Holmes (2009) notes that there are four important steps to creating a risk assessment.  These are...'.  Once you've done that, your actual risk assessment will probably be in a table format.

3.  Write up your ethical assessment.  As with the risk assessment, this needs citations of websites/books/articles that tell you about important ethical points to consider when designing fieldwork.  These might include informed consent, anonymity, security of data storage, maintaining the integrity of the site, researcher behaviour and bias.  The exact ones of relevance will depend on your project.  The Barcelona Field Studies Centre website is a good starting point, but explore other sources (maybe aim for three), and try to use a different combination to other people.  This can be tabular or a series of paragraphs.
