Continue to work through your Section 2: Methods of Data Collection. 

Use a report format....so split it into sub sections (2.1, 2,2 etc) and sub-sub-sections (2.1.1, 2.1.2 etc) as needed.

Ideas for this week (see last week's homework task for some more ideas for some of these, plus the guidance booklet).

  • 2.1 Overview of Data Collection (or Introduction to Data Collection or Data Collection Summary or Data Collection Logistics...personalise it).  This is includes your data collection map.
  • 2.x Risk Assessment (remember to cite good practice)
  • 2.x Ethical assessment (remember to cite where you get your ideas from)
  • Start writing up the methodology either....as a table (separate table from primary and secondary data collection or as prose paragraphs (either structured by sub question...'2.2 Primary and secondary data collection for Research Question 1 (.....), or structured by primary or secondary data...'2.2 Primary Data Collection 2.2.1 Shore Profiles, 2.2.2 Groyne Surveys, 2.2.3 Hudson's Rip Rap Index Survey, 2.2.4 Interview)
Remember to find some citations that you can use to justify the decisions made in the design of your data collection, and start compiling your reference list (as a separate document).

Reminder that presentation plus methodology should be complete (barring a handful of tweaks) by the end of term.  If it isn't, you'll be on the back foot in January when we move on to Analysis after the mocks.
