Additional Info
Sorry not to be in the lesson today.  Please complete the following in my absence:

OneNote>Horn of Africa>Lesson 5 Pirates in Somalia>Worksheet

1. Use the 'annotated map' page in OneNote to add your own labels to your worksheet map: Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Mediterranean Sea, Suez Canal, Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Indian Ocean

2. Read textbook p.130-131 (scanned into Lesson 5)

3. Answer the three worksheet questions

4.. Study the timeline flowchart, which tells the story of Somali piracy

5. Number or colour-colour code the statements (see separate page in OneNote) and plot them on the set of axes on your worksheet.  If you think something is a statement that is critical of pirates, plot it in the lower half; if it's more supportive/giving them the benefit of the doubt, plot it in the upper half.  If you think the statement makes a very important point, plot it to the right hand side; if you think it doesn't really matter that much, plot it to the left.  For example, a statement that was very supportive of the pirates and that you think is very important should be plotted in the top right-hand corner.  This is a subjective exercise - your opinion may be different from other people's, and there is no right or wrong.

6.  Extension - if you have time, write a paragraph under the worksheet explaining the some of the reasons why you have plotted the statements where you have.

7. Homework - see separate assignment on the homework app.
