OneNote>04 Africa>Lesson 3 Physical Geography of Africa
Use your 4- and 6-figure grid reference skills to complete tasks 1-10 on the worksheet page. You will be shading/labelling some of the key physical features of Africa on the map using the grid references.
When shading grid squares, please use the following colours:
- Yellow for deserts
- Brown for mountain ranges
- Green for rainforests
- Blue for lakes
- Red for individual mountains (unlike the four above, you just draw a red triangle for these, don't shade whole square.
For rivers, they are already drawn on for you. You just need to write the name of the river (e.g. Nile) beside the correct blue line.
Typo in Q6: Should say 'African' mountains, not 'Asian' - please correct on sheet.
For Q10, in three questions you need to shade part of the square only (e.g. western half, northwest quarter). I have shared a compass in a separate page to help you with this, but basically is it says 'western half only' then just shade the left hand side of the square, if it says 'northwest quarter only' then just shade the top left hand corner of the square.
If you finish early, you can practise your African countries drag and drop game in the 'World' app.
Homework for Friday (also set as separate task in app): finish this sheet.
