Compose a short programmatic piece with fairytale / mythology / fantasy theme.

Instrumentation: You should write for string quartet/quintet/orchestra. Optional: add one other melodic instrument.

Use whole-tone / octatonic scales, you could also use chromatic/pentatonic or one of the other modes of limited transposition.

Think about using effects like tremolo, parallel motion chords. 

Repetition will be very useful.

This is a 2-week project (2 lessons and 2 pieces of homework). Don't leave it all for next week, ensure that you spend 1 hour composing for homework.
