Please listen to Mushnik and Son (track in the Set work folder in OneNote) and look at the music and do some initial analysis before our lesson on Thursday.

This can take any format (brainstorm, bullet points, table etc) but should cover the following points:

What is the metre? Does it change?

What is the tempo? Does it change?

What are the significant rhythmic patterns? Why has Menken used them?

What is the main key? Does it change at any point?

What is the structure of the song?

Which instruments are used? Why do you think they have been chosen?

Which voices can you hear?

What is the main texture? Are there any other types of texture used?

State three features of the melody in this song.
