Describe how you set up your compost heap. Explain how we made sure the conditions for decomposition were met. Predict how the mass will change over the next couple of weeks. 
Hint: if living organisms (like bacteria and fungi that decompose dead matter) respire, they release carbon dioxide gas which is released into the room and this gas has mass! Secondarily some water may evaporate - how might this affect the mass on top of what you said about carbon dioxide. 

Finally you could predict what you think your vegetables will look like in 2 weeks!
