A while ago, Wynton Marsalis played some of his music on television. Then he talked to students in the audience. They hoped to become musicians themselves. This is part of his advice to them: "Write out a practice schedule, and set goals to chart your development. Concentrate when you practice. Relax and practice slowly; invest yourself. Play everything as if you were singing. Don't be too hard on yourself when you make a mistake. Remember, it is not the end of the world. Just make sure you learn from your mistakes. Think for yourself and be optimistic. How you feel about living in the world determines your success."
