1. Read Topic 2.2 in your Global textbooks. Complete the assessment questions at the section. 

2. Read the Code of Hammurabi. You can view it in Resources or use a search engine on your iPad. The Code of Hammurabi is divided into five sections: marriage, land rights, business dealings, family relations, and crime and punishment. After reading the code, use what you have read in your textbook and the code itself to create a code of  your own. Pretend you are the ruler of a nation. The task is to create a code (or list of laws) that you will use to govern your nation. Each code must have five sections (marriage, land rights, business dealings, family relations, and crime and punishment). For each section, you  must write five laws. That's a total of 25 laws; five under each section outlined above. 

For example, under marriage, a law could be:
One must be at least 18 years old to get married.
