In lieu of Hispanic Heritage month, your task is to research and find a Hispanic poet of your choosing. After doing so, complete the following steps:
1. Write a brief biography of the poet 
2. Choose a poem from the poet and explicate it. Include a personal response to the poem explaining how it relates to you in your life. Be prepared to read your poem in class. 
3. Write how you feel the poet and his/her work contributes to society. 
4.Include a picture of the poet (this can be shown from your ipad) 
Note: Each of these steps needs to be completed on its own page, Page 1- Cover page. Page 2- Biography, Page 3- Explication and all items listed in step 3, Page 4- Contribution to society. 
This assignment must be typed, Times New Roman, double-spaced, font size 12. All students must find a way to have this printed and ready to be handed in on Friday, October 10, 2014.
